Current Project Phase

As of Monday, August 17, 2026, the project has officially moved into the mobilization stage.

Saw cutting and potholing crews are scheduled to begin work today, August 17, 2026. These activities will allow crews to verify existing underground utilities and prepare the project area for water main construction.

Traffic control devices and construction signage will also begin going up throughout the project area as crews establish work zones and prepare for upcoming construction activities.

Construction Sequence

Construction will begin near the intersection of 66th Avenue and Washington Street and progress south toward 59th Avenue. Work will be completed in phases to help minimize impacts to residents, businesses, and traffic.

Initial activities will include saw cutting, potholing, traffic control setup, and other site preparation work ahead of water main installation.

Traffic & Water Service Impacts

Motorists should expect to begin seeing traffic control, construction signage, equipment, and crews along Washington Street as mobilization progresses.

Temporary lane closures and traffic pattern changes may be necessary within active work zones. Drivers are encouraged to use caution, reduce speeds, and follow all posted traffic control signs and directions from construction personnel.

As water main construction progresses, temporary water service interruptions may be necessary. Affected customers will be notified in advance whenever possible.
